One of the easiest used cars to own, if you can afford the price
The E210 Corolla has little in the way of real faults. What Car's owner survey put it seventh of 26 family cars, and most of what owners report is a flat 12V battery or an infotainment glitch. The things to check are recalls on 2019 builds, the service history (Toyota's long warranty depends on it) and the condition of the 12V battery. Almost all of them are hybrids, so you are mainly choosing between a 1.8 and a 2.0, not between petrol and diesel.
The E210 is the twelfth-generation Toyota Corolla, on sale in Europe from 2019, with a facelift in 2023. It comes as a five-door hatchback, a Touring Sports estate and, in some markets including Ireland, a saloon. It is built in Burnaston in England (the saloon comes from Turkey).
